Apptopia Marketing Site Refresh - 2023
Refreshing an existing company site is always an interesting challenge as it allows designers to break the mold and create a more modern face for the company. At the same time, it is usually done between all other projects and pretty quickly, so it's usually a quick and intense scramble and poof - it's live.
Here is the quick redesign of Apptopia website. My role was being part of a team of two, supporting the process every step of the way, from research and ideation to developing a new site structure, to pages layout, text formatting and vector icon and assets creation.
Research Phase
We were aware of the history of the existing site, and how long ago it was designed, so we knew all of the issues and limitations of it (structure did not allow to add more information when necessary, layout was outdated, images were now stylistically outdated and hard to replicate when needed, etc etc. The site needed a refresh. We knew that some of our competition recently updated their marketing sites, and ours could have a lot more finesse and a much better structure.
Before 2023, Apptopia marketing site looked like this:
Design Phase
After a few visual ideas were presented, the look and feel was selected by the marketing team and the long process began of creating a new site map and designing pages for each of the Apptopia product packages.
Layouts were designed and finessed, and text created and edited for the right tone of voice. We put together a set of typography for the design system, colors, custom icons, and buttons. The site was designed in pieces by two designers on our team, and we collaborated in Figma to piece it together for presenting to upper management.
Here is some of the process:
Different subscription tiers had separate pricing pages designed.
Footers were designed and tested with call to action and without.
Icons were designed from scratch
Final Deliverables
The final site was approved, coded by Engineers and looked like this in the end. Of course, text and images could now be easily switched, and more information could be easily added, and the site could attract more customers, which is always the final goal.
